The two coolest homebrew games I have seen for the DS are Still Alive, a 2D Portal clone with a level editor, and Amalone, a professional-looking video game adaptation of the bord game Abalone.

Whats a good cart to use for DS homebrew and emulation? This thread has got me interested in investing in one.

Re: Discovering the DS homebrew scene
I use a CycloDS; it has a ton of exclusive features [Savestates, returning to the game list without restarting the DS, In-game .txt reader, Native Moonshell support, etc.], and is a sturdy, reliable device. Also, specifically for homebrew, you don't have to patch the files for them to work on the card; it automatically does so.
