Late version Saturn compatibility

Post by slk486 »

Uh oh, I just bid on a Saturn Derby Stallion Edition on eBay, and THEN found out it has compatibility issues with some games - most notably Outrun, which was one of the reasons for me to get a Saturn.

I can not find any information on what the issues might be, though.

Anyone know how serious they are and if they can be remedied?

Edit: Apparently there's a second revision of Outrun, that works on model 2 Saturns. Yay! :)
Apart from Metal Slug and Space Harrier, does anybody know of other games that have issues?

I had never heard of a Derby edition of Sega Saturn. This page seems to do a good job of describing it. http://www.jwnyc.com/games/saturnskeleton.html
