Well the PS3's processor is modeled after super computers, so it has an edge in doing stuff you can't really see, like better physics and better AI....oh wait, this gen we said screw the hardest part of programming let's just put zombies everywhere.

also, on the topic's title, I think the only game that will be worth such a long wait will be Half Life 3

Tried the game on a store the other day.

1) was shocked that the game was actually translated to Greek

2) was shocked that the only available race was with a kart. Yeah great way of promoting a real car driving game.

Karts are highly regarded in the motorsports world. Race karts reach speeds of 100MPH, hardly child's play. It's a driving simulator, and last i checked, you drive karts.

let me put it this way. How many car magazines exist, and how many kart magazines exist?

Imo it's a stupid addition, in the sense that I don't think anyone minds them being there, but at the same time.....no one really cares either.

What do magazines that review passenger cars have to do with how relevant karts are in the motorsports world?

Anyway, as for me, I love the kart addition. I was surprised how much they handled like real karts, which makes it all the more fun. The online kart battles are fun as well. Anyway, I see where you're coming from, but there are tons of motorsport fans out there, including myself, who enjoy kart racing. Yamauchi knows these people exist, which is why he added it to his racing simulator.

What works best for which car at which tracks, etc. It's really too bad, because that is what the game is supposed to be about. Spending more time tweaking the cars then testing them than actually racing them. That's fun, in my book.

Instead this conversation has turned into the same old pissing contest that has been repeated over and over again on countless forums and gaming blogs. I guess I'll just stick to the NASIOC forums when I want to talk about the cars in the game and not the limitations of the system the game is played on. For me, GT is about cars and only cars and not about system specs and the way shadows are projected on the tarmac. I know we all have our different opinions on what makes a game great, but this game, we all know the main attraction are the cars, so let's just talk about cars...shall we? I would say the same about my other favorite racing game, Forza Motorsport 3.

Forza 3 is awesome. The level of customization is just amazing. I love all muscle cars and this game doesn't disappoint on that front. It has a great selection of Mopar muscle among many other classic brands. Being able to duplicate my current car in game with a 70 or 09 Challenger is great. Then throw in the 540 Hemi mated to a AWD drivetrain along with all the other performance candy makes it even better. Hell, they even have the Ram SRT10 in there, which has to be the most off the wall, impractical truck ever produced. I play this game religiously every chance I get. I also just picked up Need For Speed Hot Pursuit today. Man this game is just plain, simple fun.

I fully agree with your post... But I figured if I posted something similar, I'd get flamed so I just joined in the pissing match and tried to be as pleasant as I could about it.. It seems as though half the people discussing this thread is ripping on Sony this Sony that.. I find that funny that whenever there is a thread on M$ a game or Nintendo game, even though it's a disappointment like Epic Mickey or Other M, no one talks about Nintendo this Nintendo that or Microsoft sucks etc.. Yet when people crap on Sony and don't stay on topic, no one says jack...

Ok so back on topic, there are people in PSN desperately needing a pickup truck... If you make a second account you can pick one up early in the used car section... You can probably get a decent trade from another player if you have one.. They are pretty valuable for people trying to get 100% progression..

The guys on GAF have been passing around a suped up Dodge Ram, which I managed to borrow to finish the Pickup truck race in A-spec - it's pretty cool being able to loan out a car like that, but it also highlights a problem with the way the used car dealer works when so many users are having difficulty finding a pickup. I saw someone say they were level 20 and still hadn't found one in game.

I am shooting for 100%...you can get a Dodge Ram if you complete IA license with bronze. Or...you can wait for one to pop up in the used car lot for 30 grand or so.

Aw dammit, I got busted with a hotlink of a screen shot of GT5.

Anyway, Forza 3 does have much better customization. I love that you can make exact copies of your favorite real-life race cars if you spend enough time on it. A 540 HEMI with an AWD drivetrain? Sacrilege or genius? Luckily you won't feel the financial consequences if things don't work out.

Hey, the Ram SRT10 is practical, you can haul more than ass in that thing! It was a bit pricey, though. Damn thing cost more than half of a Viper SRT10.

It's funny because most of my stable in Forza 3 are American cars and in GT5, it's mosly Japanese cars. To me (only because of the development studios who made them) Forza 3 is for American cars, and GT5 is for Japanese cars. I am not a big fan of European cars, so I buy them if they are required for events, then I sell them.

I haven't tried Hot Pursuit yet because I have not been a fan of previous NFS titles. For this gen, the top driving games for me are Forza 3, GRID, Dirt 2, and now...GT5 has been added to the list even tho I am only about 20% done with the game. It's just too bad that you didn't see the merit in keeping the game. There are updates to come!
