I've just bought a 1tb external drive to clear space off my 2 500gb drives on my laptop. I seem to fill mine up easily with movies and music. Once my drive gets here im using it all for movies, keeping one drive in my laptop for other media (music, pictures, books) and using the other for my os and programmes. I dont play or install games much but im sure it still wont be too long before i have to get another drive. Damn Pirate Bay
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

So currently I have the following:

500 GB - Windows, games, music, 80% full and there's a lot more I'd put on
2 TB - Anime, TV, Movies, 60% full
500 GB - MAME, 50% full

The MAME drive just died on me so I got a new 2 TB that I'm going to transfer my main drive onto which will let me reinstall all the games that I've cleaned off and then give that 500 GB back to MAME.

I have close to 1TB in just raw video alone, then I have about 300GB in samples/masters/stems, then all the TV/Film/Music I could ever watch/listen to taking up another couple of terabytes. AND I'm considering buying a couple of 2TB drives when they get cheap enough, building a NAS and taking 2 of my 1TB drives for 6TB of Network Attached Storage and then ripping all my DVDs to it so I can use Plex Media Server anywhere in the house, plus I can just put them all in storage. Saving even more space.

My non-installed games folder (ROMs, Touhou, etc.) is 18.3 gigs. My installed Steam games folder, which I've uninstalled a lot of recently, total 53.3 gigs. In Pen-and-Paper RPG sourcebooks, I have 6.9 gigs of pdfs. I have I have a complete SNES Romset and several PS1 isos on my external drive, as well as several anime series, movies, and music. These total about 100 gigs altogether. My computer harddrive is 320 gigs, so I could probably fill it if I didn't have my external.

I only fill my hard drives on my desktops. On laptops they get too heavy if I fill them and it is more of a pain to carry around.

I do highend video editing on the side occasionally. At 50mpbs a second, space goes fast.

I hear you. I have a Lacie Big Disk Quadra just bursting at the seams with HD dv captures. Not to mention all the additional project files.

I need bigger drives, but I am waiting till this last project pays off. Once I get either a quadra or a drobo. Quadra makes more sense.
