You have the PS2 version? Is the original song in there? Or is it just in the title screen?

Anyone remember the sing along bouncing ball on the C64 screen? :D

I can't recall all the details right now but I do remember some odd things being missing from the PS2 version as well as some people complaining that the graphics were real grainy compared to the Wii version.

The bouncing ball from the C64 version of the original game was also present in the Sega Master System version.

On the wii version, the original song is played during the following. #1 Getting into Echo 1, #2 going to the file cabinets in the game (at the fire hall) which will scroll the credits, and you can blast ghosts during those credits. #3 beating the game... i cant vouch for the other versions, but if the ps2, is supposed to be very similar to the wii version. It will probably be the same.

Thanks for the replies. Believe it or not the enticing original song is the win for me. A budget Title, I think I'll pick it up. :D

10 bucks new or a 9 bucks used scratched copy at Gamestop. Oh gee, maybe I'll buy it new.

As a fan it was fantastic to see something more movie like with the PS3/PC/Xbox 360 version. But overall the Wii version did a better delivery.

The controls were fun on the Wii (though I can't knock the other versions) and just gives it a more "Hey! I'm a Ghostbuster!" feel. But really what sold me on the Wii version was how the cut scenes played out. The story was delivered WAY better; you got to hear more lines and see more "acting". One of the better examples is when you are going through the building to get to Alissa and fight Stay-Puft. In the PS3/Xbox/PC version you find Alisa and you hear the dialog between Her, Ray, and Peter as background and nothing is really happening. In the Wii version it becomes a cut scene and is far more hilarious. You get to see Ray trying to get Alissa to move out of the way as Stay-Puft comes crashing through the wall as well as see Peter on the stairway drinking his coffee, pretending like he is being attacked and too busy to aid you and Ray as Ray tries to get him up there. There are a number of scenes this happens with, it just flows way better.

So, are the story lines in both versions of the game the same? Like it's pretty much the same game, just different graphics?

Yes, its the same game, just cartoony graphics for the wii/ps2. Same dialog and everything, I researched this before I decided on the Wii version vs the PS3.

Contrary to what seems to be a common misconception, the Wii is MUCH more powerful than the PS2. It's been compared by some developers to "two Gamecubes." That may not be impressive next to other consoles of this generation, but even just one Gamecube is noticeably more powerful than the PS2. It should come as no surprise that there are problems when a developer tries to treat the Wii and the PS2 as equivalent.

Same story lines from beginning to the end but they are delivered differently. I think the Wii version made it feel much more...Ghostbustery...yes lets make that word up for it. It just put the script to better use in both cut scenes and in game.

Got the PS2 version finally.

The Bad
The main theme song is only heard for a lousy five seconds at the beginning of the game. The firehouse only has the background music from the movie. Hopefully the entire song will pop up again later on. There has been posts about the game locking up, happened once with me. A complete freeze reboot needed. Switching over to a 3rd party controller, a screen sometimes pops up "Can't detect controller." A press of the Start button continues the game. Strangely the game lockup itself only happened once and with a PS2 Sony controller. Frame rate a little slow but not bad.

The Good
All the voices are there, just like the movie. Besides capturing the ghosts, there is an added incentive of scanning first to build up a collection. PK meter used in search and scan collecting of the ghosts. Various background trivia under the unlocks for the dedicated Ghostbusters fan. Dual Shock controls work pretty well once the sensitivity is turned down a little. Capture the ghost slam the stick at the arrow prompts, then Triangle Button to throw out a trap.

Game installs fine with HDAdvance/HDLoader.

Looking forward to capture the big dino and eventually that Sta-Puff Michelin man look alike.
