From the 32-bit TV game console generation:

Playstation>Saturn>N64>3DO>Jaguar>PC-FX (although I prefer the Saturn above all)

The N64 isn't terrible, but considering that it was the follow-up to the NES and SNES, and had the PSX and Saturn as its main competition, it certainly does compare terribly to all five of those other systems. The handful of AAA and few AA/A titles on the system just do not compete, as good as F-Zero X, Sin & Punishment, Mario 64, Zelda: OoT, Waverace and No Mercy are.

Not a fan of motion controls. But House of the Dead on HD is tempting!

The Black Wii bundled with Sports and Sports Resort would have to have Motion Plus as I believe Sports Resort requires it to work.

Two pages of great Wii games without a mention of Donkey Kong Country Returns or Wario Land: Shake It ends now.. If you're a fan of classic Nintendo platforming, and think the Wii is only good for New Super Mario Bros in that dept., then look no further than those two gems.

There's also a few more years left in the Wii, and Nintendo still has yet to touch Kid Icarus, F-Zero, and Star Fox - not to mention a few more sleeper hits that the Big N is notorious for pumping out towards a console's twilight.

The Wii is by no stretch a powerhouse console, nor is it a triple A dream machine. (Nintendo has stated countless times that they are in no way trying to compete with Sony or Microsoft.) But for an open-minded gamer, or the indie game developer, the Wii is what a traditional Nintendo system has always been - innovative and modern, while staying family friendly without fear to experiment.

how nice for you. Sorry but i think the N64 was weak as hell. I see a few of you are fans of it, but honestly it really soured me on Nintendo. I loved the NES and the SNES, but the N64 was just fail. It only had a couple decent games. Most were terrible attempts at 3d that just didn't fly

Tnx guys, but like i said im not really looking for game suggestions yet i was just looking for info on the hardware itself. I do see a lot of stuff like Donkey Kong Country Returns, new super mario bros, paper mario, ect.. im not really sure what the point of those would be if i already have the originals. Its just the same thing with spruced up gfx isn't it? There are several other games that sound decent though.

Thank you for the answers on the video out and batteries. Thats kinda weak that it only does 480p, but it doesn't surprise me much. I guess i gotta buy component cables to do even that though. It is strange that theres no battery pack though. Does it only take regular AA batteries? Can you actually plug it into your wii, or is it battery only?

although im not looking for games yet, i did have one question; When you guys say the new sin and punishment.. are you referring to a remake of that old N64 shooter that never made it to the states somehow? (one of the few good games on the system, and it didn't even get to the US, lol) I also saw someone mention gamecube games. Is the Wii backwards compatible? if so thats a plus, because i would have liked to get the fire emblem game. I borrowed my friends gamecube just to play that game back in the day =P

Geez. Every post you make just screams of someone who is either a troll or the laziest person I've seen.

I agree with you. There are a few really good games on it, but both the PS1 and Saturn blew it away.

Not sure about DKC Returns, but New Super Mario Bros. Wii is definitely not the same thing with spruced up graphics! It's a whole new game. Call it Super Mario Bros. 6 if you wan (New Super Mario Bros. on DS would be SMB5). If you like Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World, then you'd be nuts to pass this up.

Just regular AA batteries. The rechargeables I have last pretty long, actually. There are 3rd party battery packs, but why bother?

I'm not sure why you seem to think a lot of these games mentioned (NSMB, Paper Mario, this one, etc.) are remakes. This is a sequel.
I also saw someone mention gamecube games. Is the Wii backwards compatible? if so thats a plus, because i would have liked to get the fire emblem game. I borrowed my friends gamecube just to play that game back in the day =P
It's 100% backwards compatible. There's a flap on the top with 4 Gamecube controller ports and two memory card slots. Just buy a Gamecube controller, and maybe a memory card, and you're good to go! The Wii is actually just an upgraded Gamecube as far as hardware in concerned. It has a faster CPU and more RAM and... I think that's about it, to be honest. I don't know why other companies just don't do that, as it would make backwards compatibility much easier, not to mention making things easier for those making games!

Pretty much, as all of these questions are easily solved by a google search. But... I somehow feel better about my self for answering these questions. :D

That's cool. It's not like you're not on spot with your answers but rather, the dude seems to have an attitude problem when asking for help. Twas my only gripe.
