Take a look at the pins. I know it's hard to see in the tight space, but try and verify that all the pins are at the correct depth.

I had a Saturn controller that I got for free a while back but it never worked. I finally decided to take a look at it and noticed that one pin was pushed back. All I had to do was crack open the plug and slide the pin all the way to the end (and glued it so it wouldn't move again) and now it works! So perhaps this could be the reason your multitap port isn't working.

If the pins look fine, then you'll have to open up the multi tap to see what's going on.

If you have a camera, try and take a clear picture (or two) of the inside and post it here. Would be best to upload it huge and post a link rather than the picture (easier for us to view it that way). Some one here might be able to spot something that you over looked. A well lit top-down shot would be best.

Looks like a little green corrosion in that socket there on the 1st and 4th pin from the right. Try to get that cleaned off and see if it perks up.

Kinda wondered about that #2 hiding under there. I don't see any green on that one, but perhaps it still needs a good clean?
