I have talked myself into going for the full collection of US release DC games. I used to have a pretty decent dreamcast collection but i traded most of my good games away before i got into collecting games and consoles.
I believe there are around 250 US games? I thought i have read that in a few different places. What games will be the hardest to come by? I know some games wont be hard to find, just hard on the wallet. Im hoping to pick up some bundles off ebay and such to make it a little easier to get most of the common ones out of the way.
Im sure there are a few on this forum that have completed this list, care to post up your collection?

I have Dreamcast PDF lists for download at my CRT vs LCD signature link, buried towards the bottom of the OP.

Re: Thinking of Collecting all US dreamcast games
This is a checklist of every US-released Dreamcast game, which will prove to be very useful in completing a full DC set.

As for which games are hardest to find...you're right that none are really hard to find. You could probably find copies of every standard-release US-region Dreamcast game floating on ebay at any given time.
For pricing purposes, go with videogamepricecharts.com. You can look at their price list for DC and filter it from most to least expensive.

Also hit up all the surprise thrift finds locations and even Craigs List. A huge disparity of prices depending where you shop.

I know all about thrift stores, i pretty much make weekly rounds to about 5 different ones in my area, plus a small chain of used music stores that sell games also, they generally have a few dc titles, mostly sports but sometimes you find a gem mixed in.

$12 bucks for house of the dead 2 DC scratch, not a good deal. I remember walking into a pawn shop and I see dreamcast games. I just wanted to see the game title names because I couldn't see it properly. He tells me if I'm going to buy them, not now but someday. He called Sega CD games junk because he was lazy to me the games.

Re: Thinking of Collecting all US dreamcast games
I did this a few years ago. Started from scratch and obtained a complete US collection in 3 months. I bought large lots on ebay so that made it a lot quicker. After it was done, I just wasn't happy with it and sold it. Eventually I rebought most of my favorite ones. It was kind of fun hunting for a complete collection, but there are always those games that are crappy/mediocre and you'll probably never play and have to make shelf space for. I'm just going to get games I'll actually play instead of collecting a complete set.
Also if you're going for a complete collection, be aware that the official checklist lists Sega Swirl but it was never released as a standalone game. Then there are also those alternate versions that aren't listed (Sonic Adventure LE, Shenmue LE, Midway "HOT NEW" revisions), and also Sega All-Stars budget releases.
I don't remember many games being really expensive or hard to find but prices may have changed.

Hope you don't ignore some of the Imports just for the sake of a complete U.S. collection. Japanese REZ and PAL Shenmue in particular come to mind.
