Xbox Live service issues

Regarding the recent support article on xbox.com http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/live/serviceissue.htm. Did anyone have problems accessing the service over xmas? I had some right problems on boxing day trying to get on but managed to get on after persisting for a while.

Anyone looking forward to getting their free xbox live arcade game? I wonder if thats *any* game or like an older 400M$ game?

After reading that article it sounds like it's ONE game of THEIR choice. Oh well as long as it's free. It's all about the Gamercrack.. I mean gamerscore .
