PAL or NTSC WII ???

So i'm gonna get myself a WII for the third time! Both my previous ones have been US NTSC imports (i live in the UK). Are there any benefits in getting the US model over the UK one?

Specifically, do all the games have the option to run in 60 hz mode without the ugly black borders at the top and bottom of the screen?

I dont think I've seen a game with those borders in a very long time. And most games have a 60hz option either way.

The wii itself has the option to run in 50hz or 60hz, so I'd just get the UK one.

Sorry for being off tangent, but I'm curious about the "third time" part. What happened to your two other Wiis?

I'm in the UK and my Wii is NTSC once it was softmodded it didn't matter at all, in fact I'd recommend an imported machine as I got mine very cheap on account of it being US.

yea i dont think either would matter.
The real question should be " should i get a white one or black one ?"

Yeah, you're right in saying it doesn't matter which region you buy your Wii from, and the black one does look really cool.

Though for those who have softmodded their Wii's I ask, is it possible to mod the Disc Channel into becoming region free? I like the disc screen video that pops up when you put in the disc and you don't get that with USB loading, do you? I just think discs are more convenient, so if anybody could let me know about that, it'd be much appreciated, because all the methods I've seen are very old and out of date.
