Twas a thread a while back. Now everytime I cook something, I have to check the oven just to make sure I haven't left any N64 games in there.

Microsoft originally got their RRoD idea from that SNES.

Console wise a SNES that was yellowed with some chips and 2 of the 6 screw tubes/posts broken out and 3 PS1s that had a bit of stuff growing on them after living in a garage for years. The PS1s just needed a clean. I have a Dual SHock with a chunk missing from the bit around the right thumbstick, but the thumbstick itself is fine and it works with no issues.

I got an SP for free that was in my friend's bag when she had a can of Coke explode in there. I cleaned it up except for a few spots in the screen you don't really see when playing and it works except for the volume being a bit wonky. I need to give that another clean.

The worst is the Mario Kart from a friend that had gotten wet. One of the diodes next to the battery there completely rusted away. I cleaned it up and replaced the diode, but recently discovered that even with a new battery it won't save records. It played fine for the tracks I had a go at though. This amazing cart is for sale in my thread if you don't care about saving.

Hmm, my worst was certainly from Xbox-scene, I knew what I was getting into, but I got a roach box from a guy for $20+shipping. The xbox worked fine, but a cockroach saw fit to lay eggs on the heatsink and start a family in it until the original owner turned it on. Then pop went the weasel...

Keep in mind that the second owner cleaned out the console, and scrapped the majority of the mess off, but there were still fried goo all over the board when I got it. After sand blasting, air drying and alcohol bathing the sucker, I still couldn't get the fried roach smell to go away. Threw a air freshener in it and gave it to a local pawn shop for $25 :P
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?
