Mega Man X Command Mission, is it any good?
Mega Man X Command Mission, is it any good?
I've had this game on my shelf for a loooong time now, and for some strange reason never played it. I bought for the GC and planned on playing it this winter, but is it worth my time? The reviews were mixed but that doesn't mean anything as you all know. I'm a long time Mega Man game, and I just wanted some feedback on what you thought of it and if you completed it. Thanks guys and gals!

if you like Mega Man story, and you like RPG's, then you'll like it. I like it. I don't love it. But I like it.

I like it. Haven't beaten it or gone back to it in 2 years or so, but I think it's a pretty solid RPG. Especially for a Megaman game.

I liked it quite a bit. The gameplay is really fun, and the original characters were cool. The music wasn't bad either. If you played any of the other Mega Man RPGs (Battle Network, Star Force, Legends) and liked them to some extent, you'll probably like this. I played it through to the end, it got pretty challenging at some points.

The graphics are great and the voice acting, amazingly, isn't bad at all. I don't like how half the cast feels they were created ala sonic and his friends.
It's also the only Megaman X game with a villain who ISN'T Sigma. That's a plus.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I love Megaman games but it's sad that they are the only series where it's a spoiler to reveal who the villain isn't!
Oh and the PS2 games are a weird beast. I hated both of them (especially X7) when they came out but they've grown on me in the last few years.

Haven't played X8 (which is supposed to be better), but X7 was an unplayable mess. Plus, no option to play as X at the start of the game? And why the fuck did they add Axel. The Megaman Zero games had already been released, and Axel wasn't in the canon of the series.
Besides, didn't the creator of Megaman say he wanted Megaman X to end with X5?

Minor Spoilers.
Inafune wrote the story to end at X5 (hence Zero's seeming demise, the mention of Elysium and X's ambition to create a utopia for Humans and Robots, the introduction of the guy would could have been Dr. Weil, etc) but Capcom had other plans. X6 was produced without Inafune's input and he was forced to revise the Zero storyline to incorporate X6's ending. Axl was another Capcom idea that was never part of the original plan.
