Found Rez for PS2, should I hold out for the DC version?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Trance Vibrator is hilarious and awesome but really only for collectors sake. It is an advanced rumble device, errr vibrator. I grabbed mine like new for $10 in Tokyo. You really don't need it, not worth $50 unless you are a Rez fiend.

Buy the ps2 copy if the price is fair. If you want to try the dc version, download the darn thing. Then, if you really want the dc version you can buy that one.

DC version looks sharper and has undocumented mouse control, but half the frame rate. The Trance Vibrator does work fine with the NTSC-U PS2 version. There's no difference in the two regions except for a button swap and the Japanese manual & disc are much nicer - wish I hadn't gotten rid of mine when I sold the PStwo.

Rez is my favorite game of all time, although I think you either "get it" or you don't. Some people just think of it as a pretty easy rail shooter, because, well, it is. It's just so much more for some of us, almost spiritual.

For the record, the PS 2 version is NOT rare. I think someone said it is. It was reprinted by Game Quest. I think the Dreamcast version still is rare though.

I have heard that the PS 2 version drops frames occasionally compared to the Dreamcast version. I have the PS 2 version though and don't remember noticing that.

If you've got an Xbox 360, it's also available as a download

It's getting rarer again - GameQuest Direct and Play Asia (where I got my Japanese copy for 10 bucks and my US copy for 30) have both sold out, and the eBay price has climbed to $35 + shipping minimum.

Rez HD for the 360 should be soon, and I can't see how it can fail to be a good translation, so this should be the best option for people who haven't played it before and have a 360. I'm so jealous of 360 owners!
