No fanfare on release, you know your kind of game. I thought you knew about it - and you call yourself the Gameboy King! It helps that it was a Japan only release. It goes for about $40 on ebay, pre shipping. But worth every penny if you like Fzero - It feels like a mix of all the other titles. It is one of the few GBA games I wish I had that I dont - Im not willing to drop the $40 for it.

I don't call myself the Game Boy King -- mainly becuz of shit like this. Haha. But that's what I love about the GB library, no matter how much I obsess over it, there's still plenty of amazing surprises!

If my choices were really only limited to SNES/N64/GC, I'd pick the SNES version hands down. When Sega got their hands on GX, they turned it into a completely different kind of game that I'm simply not a fan of.

However, if my choices were expanded to the entire F-Zero library, I'd pick the BS SNES sequels and F-Zero Climax for the GBA.

I'm a bit late to the discussion but I will say Snes one is my personal favourite then the N64 one because it had music from the Snes one. It had many things that made it feel like a sequel and part of the Fzero series.

While Fzero GX is the better game I feel like it's not Fzero.

I also personally loved Mode 7 for everything it could do because to me when I saw it that was 3D although I did wonder why on earth was everything flat when you got close to it

Also it holds a personal spot for me because the Snes was the first console that I actually played extensively on prior to my neighbourhood had a problem with thieves so I was restricted to having the Gameboy which was great but the Snes was like a whole different level.

I agree with that the snes version of F-zero is much more aggressive and exciting although i think that several other games were better on snes than later consoles too like Zelda and Starfox /wing

Out of all the F-Zero Games, each of them has their strong and weak points.

I love the original for it's graphics. I just have a love for Mode 7 in the first place, and the graphics aren't a chore to look at (one of the main reasons I couldn't get into Star Fox, was just because of graphics alone, and I'm not a graphics buff.) I've never played the BS F-Zero 2 or whatever it was called.

X has GREAT music. Mostly because I'm a metal head, but still, I love popping in F-Zero X just to hear Devil's Forest. I unfortunately do not have a DD to play the expansion.

Now I haven't spent much time with Maximum Velocity. (I am going to go to the Flea Market and see if I can find a complete copy or at least a boxed copy for 13 bucks or less)

GX is obviously VERY FREAKING HARD. Though after hours upon hours of practice and you finally get the mission on the hardest difficulty or the Master Class, you tend to have a pretty good feeling of accomplishment. The music was great, I'm not much into techno but the music involved with the tracks and the Pilot Profiles is a pretty cool thing. The story mode I'm iffy about. One thing I disliked was being stuck as Falcon. Sure he's the series mascot, but there's 40(?) other drivers to concentrate on. And the voice acting wasn't exactly Five Star, but what can you do in that regard. Obviously the create a machine I liked a lot, but I felt there could have been something more. Have not played the arcade version, unfortunately.

I actually enjoyed GP Legend, mostly because of it's story mode being multi-faceted. The graphics reminded me of a slightly improved original. I like the tracks, the music I'm a bit iffy about (I rarely listen to the music on a handheld game, waiting for Noise to say something about this. :P) and the design of the vehicles I like. I cannot remember watching the anime though, I wouldn't mind having it on DVD or being able to watch it but I can't find it anywhere.

And finally, haven't played Climax. Now I've been a bit lazy to read above, is it worth importing? I know it has the track editor which is a buy in itself.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

I've been inspired I bought GBA GP legend from Amazon brand new £6.97 was a bargain.

I'm enjoying it since it has a lot of the classic tunes I remember from the Snes original :D
