Alan Wake Controls?

Post by Weekend_Warrior »

Quick question. Does Alan Wake have tank controls similar to Resident Evil 4 with all forward and turn movement being done on the left thumbstick, or does it have the fps-like control similar to Max Payne and Gears of War with the left thumbstick being used to move forward and sidestep while the right thumbstick is used to turn left/right?

It's not tank controls, it's a really great game too! Perfectly paced, really atmospheric. It reminded me alot of the first Silent Hill games.

It's made by Remedy, same folks who came up with Max Payne. Controls are similar, sans jumping and bullet-time, in place of which you get dodge-time, ie well-timed evades yield a slo-mo effect. As with most TPS's left-trigger lets you focus your aim.

Pretty good game, best played in 1-2 hour bursts. Top-notch presentation but samey progression. It could have absolutely great as an open-world game. I do wonder whether The Writer DLC concludes the game for good.
