I'm not into trying to get 100% in games which seems like the only way to add challenge of any sort. Would there be any point in buying this game just to play through it from beginning to end?
it's kirby
the fact that a kirby game is going to be easy is a given
Its been a long time since I played a Kirby game, but I remember the older titles having a challenge -- whether we are talking NES or SNES.
Or am I wrong? It has been a long time.
I picked this one up, and it is... easy... and slow... but kinda fun. Its kinda fun in the way Mario Galaxy is fun. For me, that makes it forgettable as a game -- but it has enough inventiveness to persist in my imagination for awhile.
The NES kirby certainly isnt very challenging. I'm not sure which SNES on you could be referring to, but dreamland 3 was pretty easy. Superstar was a bit tougher, but not what i'd call difficult.

does anyone know if gold is possible and if so, suggestions on how to get it?

Kirby's always been easy, hell the entire basis of the series was to make a game that children could beat without much trouble. The gameplay is what made them memorable.

The (S)NES games were pretty easy. The challenge level for them was pretty low, though Kirby Super Star frustrated the hell out of me at the end when I was a kid.

you have to throw a fireball at him.
I tried that, but I obviously wasn't doing it correctly
Thanks!
Just played the entire Grasslands world and the Pyramid level in the second world and so far its lots of fun. Its a game my daughter and I can have fun with together. Its still fun for me but easy enough for her. Thats pretty rare to be honest.
I have been playing this for a while. My initial impressions are good and I hope the game maintains its quality all the way through the end
What really impresses about the visuals is that this is a good example of how to make a game visually stimulating through sheer creativity rather than hardware tricks or high definition visuals. There is always something fun and creative happening visually in this game and a lot of it is interactive where it's the player making something cool happen onscreen
The level designs are ingenius and the game has managed to keep surprising me while also relying on a lot of genre staples as well. I may groan when the game does something familiar like a lava rising while you race to the top of the screen section, but then right around the corner the game will do something original to counterbalance that. This game makes very good use of the Wii remote at some parts of the game too so it doesn't feel too gimmicky or annoying
The game has done something so far that a lot of other retro type games I have played recently didn't do. It made me feel like a kid in front of his NES or SNES again. That's the kind of magic I want old school 2D titles, remakes and sequels to have
