VGA cable pics and games

Post by oizukitom »

Here are some quick pics of my DC VGA adapter in action. I don't know RB ( and to prove it, GO Buckeyes ! ) but there are some things about the VGA cable you need to know. First they are cool and I had an easy shopping experience. Second if you use Utopia 1.1 or lower to boot ISO's you will struggle. Real GDROMS work great as listed on the store page. Third a general rule 2D no - 3D oh yeah. Note Plasma Sword does not work as listed....just checking.

The 2k sports games look great. If you have an HDTV that takes SVGA DB15 input check these out...

4 player games here we come !!!! IMHO if you like the DC and the 3D library out there, the VGA adapter is money well spent. If you can get your hands on an LCD projector you could play SC with life size characters or NFL Blitz 2000 :) Have fun in VGA.

Sweet!
And you can find more of my new pics here:

For the games that didn't work, was it an original or backup?
And what region, if you know?

RB,
The "Soul Calibur" listing on the DC VGA page is confusing. SC works great. I bring it up because for some buyers that might be a major issue. Folks SC works did you see it...the fighters are 18" tall. I tried it on 2 DC's and 2 displays. I use Utopia to boot region free for Deka 2 and a Jap Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Utopia 1.1 yaps about the AV cable. Not a big deal for me. I did not test Tekken 3 Bleem yet. That should look cool. The image upload feature is cool. Is that a feature of phpBB or an addon module for it ? That is neat.

Thanks for the updates :)
I'm wondering if the region makes a difference for MVC2. I don't have an original version the USA version of 2 to test...

The image upload is just an standard feature -- pretty cool, eh :)

Keep up the great work!

Sure

Sure which ones ? Capcom 2d or oher 3d games ? The 2d games on the big tV are really hard to look at however - gameplay is still great. I upload the 320x something images because I was unsure of the add image feature - I have 1024x768 images. What would you like to see ?

I never had a problem with 320x240 capcom fighters being displayed in 480p. I am a big fan of sprite work, and seeing the individual colored squares that make up a person is fun for me. I do however have a problem seeing the complete lack of mip-map/anisotropic filtering on the Dreamcast, on all 3D games. That really bugs me, seeing textures become blurry in the distance. On a normal TV you don't see that. On VGA you do.

Looks fine to me.

Mozgus - That pic looks great...what are you displaying it on and that input is from the DC VGA adapter ? Man that looks great. Don't get me wrong :D The 2D fighters stay just not at high resolution.

The 320x in the previous post was directed at the actual pics. I did not know if there was a size limit to image uploads so I resized the originals to a smaller size.

there isn't a limit on the size AFAIK. It will make smaller thumbnails and then provide a link to the original-sized picture
