Oh let the villain be the Clock King!
Re: The next Batman film.
He's been vocal that he won't use the penguin. Disappointing because the Penguin could be broken down to just a fat, peculiar mob boss, which would fit in the Nolan-verse quite well.Ack wrote:It will be called The Dark Knight Rises, and it will be in 2D.
Thank God.
Also, Christopher Nolan has stated the Riddler is NOT the villain. Hmm...makes me wonder if he's going for the Penguin then.

There are talks that Tiny Lister may make a return appearance to portray Bane. Could be cool, as their could be some tie in on why he didn't choose to blow up the other ferry/boat.
I've got a few contacts who will know more, I'll keep you guys in the loop if you'd like.

He's already said he doesn't want to use Robin, or The Penguin. And now my theory of "Johnny Depp as The Riddler" seems to have been thrown out the window. Most other villains don't fit in the gritty Nolanverse though.

Neil Patrick Harris should be The Riddler IMO.AmishSamurai wrote:He's already said he doesn't want to use Robin, or The Penguin. And now my theory of "Johnny Depp as The Riddler" seems to have been thrown out the window. Most other villains don't fit in the gritty Nolanverse though.

Well, so long as it's not Maxie Zeus I suppose. If it's Bane, I think I'll laugh, because I don't quite see how an evil luchadore can fit in Nolan's version of Gotham. Watch Zsasz come back and play a bigger role.
A small part of me would like to see it be Clayface or Manbat, but those are pipe dreams.

I'm hoping they step back towards the formula they had in Batman Begins: Batman. The Dark Knight was awesome but it started trending towards the villain overload that the 92-97 batman films did. I don't think it has to be an A-list villain. Scarecrow put on his mask in Batman begins about 2 times the whole movie, and Ra's Al ghul was absent for nearly the entire middle act of the movie.
I'd personally like to see Batman dealing with a chaotic gang war between groups struggling for power after the mob got torn apart in The Dark Knight. And amidst all that he's further transforming into the Batcave dwelling loner of the comics.
And why do I get the feeling Alfred is going to die in the next one?

Everyone has been nice and just ignored this, but I have to say something.kingmohd84 wrote:I am not sure why so many people liked the last Batman, it was an ok film but not great.
I really felt it was not "BATMAN" movie, the hero hardly do anything super heroes do, other than wear a suit , more like a man with guns.
I think the movie did so well just because the clown died for real, and everyone thought his role was amazing so that pushed the film sales.
Batman doesn't use guns and one of the main reasons people love Batman so much is BECAUSE he's not like other super heroes. I don't think you understand anything about Batman at all, which is okay. I just wanted to make you aware of that. Try reading a few Batman books and the movie might make more sense to you
Personally, I think they should use Raj Alghul again. We all know the guy never dies and I felt his appearance in the first movie didn't do him justice. Throw in Catwoman for a little romantic tension and introduce Dick Grayson, but NOT as Robin, just introduce him into Bruce's life as an adopted son and leave it at that.
Other good choices for villains would be Victor Strange. Actually, it looks like the Arkham Asylum 2 game has the right idea, as they are using Strange and Catwoman. Isn't Two Face still alive? I can't remember if he died in the last movie. He could be re-used in some way.
Whatever they do, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. However, with Batman:Under the Red Hood, Justice League:Crisis on Two Earths(with was for all intents and purposes Justice League: Batman versus Owl Man), I'm getting plenty of good Batman movies to keep me happy as it is. His role in Batman/Superman: Apocalypse was nice too, though Wonder Woman and Barta really stole the show in that movie.
