Videos Remember Sega Channel
This guy did some nice videos on what Sega Channel looked like and how it evolved. Nice for all of us who never really got a chance to use it or for those who did have it who want a trip down memory lane.
It was definitely way way ahead of its time. The world wasn't ready for it.

Haven't seen it before, good tip!
Quite groundbreaking for it's time... certainly if you consider how common on-line gaming (even for consoles) is today

Re: Remembering Sega Channel - Ahead of Its Time
I remember having a Sega Channel. Loved it, and I've never gotten rid of it, even though it hasn't been functional for years.
Running down to the Genesis on the first of every month with my brother to check out which new games were added this time. A lot of the games that I've bought for the Genesis as I've grown up (Bonanza Brothers, Mutant League Hockey/Football, etc) I actually played first on Sega Channel.
I've also always wanted a copy of Pulseman, but that was a "Sega Channel Exclusive". Boo.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Remembering Sega Channel - Ahead of Its Time
Does anybody here remember the X-Band, or even remember using it?

I remember reading about it in EGM as a kid and dreaming of playing Street Fighter II: Turbo on my SNES with kids across the country right in my own living room.
They also had X Band for Sega.
