I am shocked that someone who doesn't like RPGs didn't like Earthbound.
Heck, it's news to me that there are people who don't like RPGs.
you should also know i've met someone here that doesn't really like platformers either.

You know, I'm totally fine with you not liking EathBound or Final Fantasy or RPGs, but this argument needs more explanation. Every video game genre is doing X 5,000 times until the game is over. X could be running, jumping, turning left, turning right, going forward, shooting, swinging a sword, sneaking up on someone and stabbing them in the throat or throwing a football. So if you don't like doing X (whatever it may be) 5,000 times, then I can't see how you can enjoy any video game ever made.

I honestly wish I had the patience for an RPG game. I've tried all the most praised and obscure ones. I just can't hold attention to it no matter how hard I try. So that's probably why my reply was so negative. I don't see how you can compare battle scenes to pressing a button though. It's progression and action in non rpg games. Instead of turn based tortue; to me atleast.

To put it simply, most of the "action" going on in turn based RPGS is under-the-hood, so to speak. Juggling stats and strategizing and whatnot. Think of it more like a board game or something I guess.
