Games like God of War

God of War games are pretty spectacular in their presentation, so they are kind of hard to top. I guess the Devil May Cry series is your best bet for a contender, but you know that already. If you are looking for something a little less well known, I suggest you try out Crimson Sea 2 for the PS2.

Bujingai is another game worth looking into in this style:

I think Bayonetta has pretty much outdone Devil May Cry. Don't know if they plan on doing a sequel though. I've seen Bujingai before. It looks cool.

Bayonetta is more over the top, but the battle system lacks the complexity of DMC and the pacing/story is horrid compared to the best DMC games.

I haven't played Bayonetta yet. I don't have a 360 or PS3, so I'm limited to previous console generations or current PC titles.
