Today, I'd say my valuables is a large collection of semi-rare titles, mostly from the Saturn. For instance; Panzer Dragoon Saga, DragonForce, Shining Wisdom, Shining the holy Ark, Albert Odyssey... etc.
I've also found that super rare titles tend to be games I'm not highly interested in. Where my value comes from is a HUGE collection of games across nearly every console you can think of, that I have some love for. Games I grew up with and the sort.
for instance: not rare, but valuable to me
Landstalker
Ecco Tides of Time
Everything Sonic
Alone in the Dark series
Phantasy Star series
etc.
Many of my favorite games are not valuable at all. I would say having a big collection of quality games(like lordofduct seems to have) is better than a small collection of uber rares.
Of course, that isn't going to stop from me getting uber rares if I can find them.
My most value is probably Valkyrie Profile for PS1.
I bought it for $30 in mint condition, nice. It now goes for over $100 on ebay!!
I have almost all the hard to find PS1 and SNES rpgs, still trying to find a few.
Plus some great rare shmups on PS1 like Thunder Force 5 and Einhander.
Also Dragon Force & Guardian Heros for Saturn. Those fetch about $80 bucks these days.

I see them going for more than that. I'd consider 80 bucks a decent price. I think Valkyrie Profile has gone down in price slightly. I'm seeing them around 100 now and not much higher. Probably because of the PSP port. Ironic, since it's actually a crappy port
i think my most valuable game is either earthbound with the book for snes or megaman X3 (not sure...) i have alot of hard to find and expensive snes carts lol
don't have much gaming valuables but maybe metal gear solid for ps1 which I saw on ebay go for around $30 and a boxed nights into dreams with controller which I bought for $19.99 and today saw it around the $50-60 range.
It's hardly rare, but I think my son did great getting a copy of NiGHTS for 2 bucks from Gamers (regional chain, also do online). It's disc only, but it's in great condition, and hey, 2 bucks!
Christmas Nights
Fatal Fury: MotW
Vagarent Story
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2)
Castlevania: SotN (PS1 Greatest Hits, but its equally as rare as the original)
