yes, both uncharted's are pretty straight forward and linear, but boy are they a blast to play. I have both and am currently going thru the first. There are some parts that had me on the edge of my seat. The sense of scale is on par with GoW too. The combat can get a bit repetitive, but like GoW isn't? Take the plunge, you be very happy you did.

Sweet, thanks for the vouch on them, will definitely pick them up along with Batman AA. GOW had me on the edge of my seat between some of those epic boss battles and the sheer grandeur of some of the scenes.

Also, I think the new Castlevania is more like this as well.

if you want a cinematic feel, you NEED to play Uncharted 2

when i first got this game me and my friends would be in awe of how good it looked on my flat screen, one of my female friends stated "its like your playing a movie" which i think the commercial for uncharted 2 even said. Hell its just a fun ass game, no i wanna replay it hahaha

oh its also reccomended that you smoke a bowl or 2 before playing. it will make it that much better trust me

Dante's Inferno is basically a GOW clone- its pretty fun, I like the setting- not too long though, worth it if you can find it cheap

I don't like Uncharted 2, but it may be what you're looking for. Different gamers, differents tastes

Dante's Inferno is also decent, I forgot that one. In fact, it is closest to God of War in terms of aesthetic and control - probably the most similar game going.

I can't believe it took almost 2 pages to get to "Dante's Inferno" and "Bayonetta".

On the horizon, the new "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" looks pretty damn tasty.

God of War games are pretty spectacular in their presentation, so they are kind of hard to top. I guess the Devil May Cry series is your best bet for a contender, but you know that already. If you are looking for something a little less well known, I suggest you try out Crimson Sea 2 for the PS2.
