This is a non destructive mod. Not like you're cutting a hole in anything so no worries at angering any purists.

Is there a way to do the Racketboy Chip and NOT solder it? Like wedge it into the right spots? Wrap a wire around something? I'm torn. I might want to practice on an American Saturn first and sell it as a modded unit and then do something with the expensive one when it gets in.
Thanks hashiriya1, I'm told it came in today, unfortunately im still at college for another hour -_-
I'll check it out tonight. Thanks!

Just played it, I am speechless. I love my saturn
My very first sega saturn ever. I had a PS1 back in the day. I missed out didn't I!
I need to replace the internal battery. I think I'll get an AR Plus cart and hold off from modding now. See if i can get some big name legit games for NTSC-U that will run with the AR before I decide to mod it.
If the prices dont go down then i will be forced to find another way to play them. Im told prices for saturn games were not this high years ago. Seems like the trend is in demand right now for the games and consoles.

If it uses the smaller controller chip on the system board it's likely you won't need to attach a second wire, only the power wire. From an old post:Xionraserei1 wrote:Is there a way to do the Racketboy Chip and NOT solder it? Like wedge it into the right spots? Wrap a wire around something?
Hobie-wan wrote: To make my chip nice and modular, I put a spade lug on the power with one one leg cut off so I could push that in the slot between the pin and clamp for power.

Re: Is it bad to mod the Skeleton Saturn Console?
Why would you need to mention that it has been modded when selling.
I mean, it should work offcourse. But that´s it! You can do all kinds of modifications. If they do not hurt the system, why tell? And it is an extra. No one will ever know unless they try and then they make a thread here how the skeleton is region free and then we have a 4 page thread about that.

I think mentioning the mod is important. What if you were buying a system from some hypothetical person and a few months later it mysteriously overheats. You open it up and find a subpar modification. Wouldn't you feel like the seller was a little dishonest?d123456 wrote:Why would you need to mention that it has been modded when selling.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yea, if you plan on selling your modded system, you need to mention it. Why wouldn't you? Honesty is the best policy.Flake wrote:I think mentioning the mod is important.
