Yeah it looks interesting but I never really played a game like that. I might have to check it out on an emulator first.Gnashvar wrote: Harvest Moon 64 FTW!
Well actually if you like these kinds of games otherwise stay away from Harvest Moon.

I don't see what all the hate about Donkey Kong 64 is about... I remember playing it and beating it back in the day while having a great time at it. Wasn't till recently that I heard a lot of people complaining about it. The multiplayer was also somewhat enjoyable, remember having some good battles in it... plus nothing beats the DK RAP!!!!
And shame on everyone for not mentioning Ogre Battle 64; make sure you like in-depth Strategy/Tactical stuff though.

I'd guess that back in the day your standards were lower. These days the only possible appeal of DK64 is nostalgia.JordanPlayer wrote:I don't see what all the hate about Donkey Kong 64 is about... We're just trying to keep demand (and thus prices) low.And shame on everyone for not mentioning Ogre Battle 64; make sure you like in-depth Strategy/Tactical stuff though.

The only one I suggest starting with is the first one on Super Nintendo. But don't look for a physical copy because they are pretty rare and expensive. Go for emulation or buy it on the Wii's Virtual Console.shwisha wrote:Yeah it looks interesting but I never really played a game like that. I might have to check it out on an emulator first.
Re: Nintendo 64 On it's Way!
I see Killer Instinct Gold has been mentioned. If you're interesting in continuing to pick up fighting games, Flying Dragon is a nice little hidden gem of a fighter on the console, and there's always Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Kombat 4 if you're a fan of the series.
For first person shooters, GoldenEye 007 is a must for the console along with its pseudo-sister game, Perfect Dark, but Turok 2 is another classic title, and the best in the series. Keep in mind it has terrible draw distance nowadays though. If you want a new take on an old classic, Doom 64 completely changes the Doom experience, and Duke Nukem 64 has some entertaining gameplay and offers some changes from Duke Nukem 3D.
If you can stomach the price, Ogre Battle 64 is a great game.

Best Rpg on the N64? That's not a hard title to get considering there were only about six rpg's on the system with some of the games just having rpg-like elements.blackmagepwns wrote: Paper Mario (THE BEST RPG ON THE 64)

Hydro Thunder
Extreme-G 2
F-Zero X
Diddy Kong Racing
Body Harvest
and Perfect Dark because its like... amazing.
You and your friends will have a lot of fun with Perfect Dark multiplayer. Pretty much everything like weapon sets, and rules are nearly fully customizable. Like over 50 different weapons, and a hefty amount of great gameplay modes.
I'd also look into finding replacement joysticks. The original N64 joysticks are poorly designed, and quickly wear down to nothing. They're usually cheap when available, and are fairly easy to install (no soldering.)

I have four of these. They work well, and have similar designs to that of a Gamecube stick.
