Nintendo 64 On it's Way!

Post by shwisha »

I never had an N64... I saw that tradengames.com had a decent price on one and had to order it. (Thanks Racketboy for your post on tradengames.com, I've already ordered quiet a bit from them).

Here's the games I ordered with it;
  • Super Mario 64
  • Donkey Kong 64
  • Goldeneye 007
  • Kirby Crystal Shards
  • Zelda Ocarina of Time
  • Star Wars Rogue Squadron
  • Castlevania 64
  • Wave Race
Anything you recommend?

You've got the basics pretty much covered. In addition to those games I'd recommend Super Smash Bros, Majora's Mask, Mario Kart, Mario Party 1-3, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Mystical Ninja Goemon, and Mario Tennis (if you're looking for something a bit different than your standard platformer. It's a great game).

These can get pricey for N64 games, but the price is indicative of their quality for sure. I love the N64. Enjoy it! It's a great console and there is tons of fun to be had with the games on it.

EDIT: lol yeah, most of these games are Rare games. Got beaten to it on some of these, but I did forget Perfect Dark so that's definitely another one.

That's an excellent start. You need to pick up Star Fox. If I were you, I'd trade away that DK64 for it. It's so bad, it's painful to play.

Robotron 64 is a good one you can pick up for dirt cheap.

I also don't see Perfect Dark on that list. That's another essential.

I've played significantly worse games than Donkey Kong 64, honestly. He could do worse.

Star Fox 64 IS a better game though.

All fine except Castlevania 64. You're better off using that as toilet paper.

So looks like Star Fox is a must, I'll add that to my list. I ordered Donkey Kong 64 because I remember friends talking about it back in High School and they loved it. After I ordered it I was doing more research and found out that a lot of people hated it because there where way too many collectibles, and no real purpose for those collectibles.

I know Castlevania 64 isn't the most noted Castlevania game but I'm a big fan of the series and the price was right.

I think I'm going to start off by playing Mario 64... I was a Playstation owner but I remember the first time I saw Mario 64 and was blown away.

DK64 is FUN... if you only collect the minimum to advance in the game. I never "got'm all" but I recall having fun back in the day with that game (and I finished it too).
