Radiant Silvergun

Post by Karny »

Hi everyone.

I'm new around here... but some of you might remember me from "the before time" ;)

I asked this question over at the SX boards (old habits die hard), but it was suggested I try over here instead... so here goes:

I've finally bit the bullet and bought myself a copy of Radiant Silvergun (I know... just before the prices fall!).

I received it today and my absolute joy turned to horror as soon as I started reading the manual. it's matte, rather than glossy!

Does anyone have an original copy of RS - just need someone to confirm that their manual is glossy like all other Jap Saturn games before I go back to the seller.

I don't know if anyone has the goods but you might try going to ebay and looking for the more amateurish photos - the pattern of light diffusion should give you an idea.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

My manual is matte, and now you've got me worrying! it the game runs fine on my Jap Saturn which isn't mod-chipped, it's my understanding that bootlegs dont.

I haven't even tested the game... but the paper quality just seems... different to me!

I'm not suggesting the disc is a boot... but rather that the manual has been reprinted to replace a missing one.

What first caught my eye (and excuse me as this is from memory) but some of the last pages have nearly black text on a black background... which seemed wrong to me.

Anyone else ever had a matte manual with any other title?

I just checked my copy of RS and my manual is matte-ish too. I really think that's just how they are (in contrast to most Jpn manuals). My copy (though used) came with a spine card too, so I think it was all together with original stuff.

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless the actual printing looks cheap (ink smearing/fuzzy text), it's probably original.
...just another lost soul...

I think mine is matte too, and my copy is perfectly legit with spine card and everything. I'll double check later though

Mine is matte, too, and I bought it at a reputable shop in Japan. They won't sell knockoffs.
