Gaming Mags That Died Fast

Post by racketboy »

Interesting read:

I've seen a couple of these on RetroMags and own a few issues of Incite, but most of these I've never even seen before....

Interesting read.

I've always preferred a magazine over websites.

[Sorry for the short/slightly non sequiter; I'm a little burnt out right now:p]

I've kept a copy of "Intelligent Gamer" with Dragon Force on the cover and a review of Albert Odyssey and (I think) something about Dark Saviour and some other good Saturn games in it. It's actually the only issue I've ever read/seen, but I'm fairly certain it died off incredibly quickly.

If anyone is interested I could probably make a scan of it.

I still have a bunch of issues of a magazine called Saturn Power (successor to Sega Power) which only lasted 10 issues.

I'm trying to remember the name of a (British) magazine from my youth, I think it was called Big K or something. To get an idea of how old it is, the first issue I got came with a Space Invaders pin.

It was a damn cool pin actually, in the shape of the classic 20 point invader. Wish I still had it :D

Yup, just found it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_K_(magazine)

Apparently it only ran for 12 issues. Only thing is I can't be 100% sure that the pin came with that magazine.

Ah Game Go; the resurrection of Gamefan. Was I disapointed to find no issue 2. I checked the magazine shop for a few months waiting for it. It never came. Too bad.

I did eventually find issue 2 though in .pdf form.

I'm new to game magazines, but I did have a magazine from 2003 called GMR, and I wonder if they're still around. I get game informer now. Good stuff.
