Master System Converter 1 on Genesis 2

Post by Merz »

From what I've read the unit will not fit due to the plastic casing. I know there is one for the genesis 2 but it costs way too much. Has anyone ever chopped one up and got it to fit their genesis 2 or know if it's possible and/or easily done? Any info would be appreciated.

i know i saw somewhere - it could have been this site or another - that somebody chopped the fuck out their converter to make it fit in a model 2. it obviously looked like hell, but i am sure it still played fine. as long as you can find a sharp enough knife/blade, i don't see why it can't be done easily. but for all that work, you might as well just buy a model 1.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Yeah just go buy yourself a model 1. They're better consoles anyhow.

Or buy an Everdrive and play SMS from that.

It occurs to me that you could try using a game genie as a pass-through device between the Genesis and the power base converter.

It's not worth it to cut it up. Just buy a model 1, or even a REAL MASTER SYSTEM! Imagine that!

But yes, it's pretty obvious that it's possible and someone's done it. It takes virtually no skill. Just a dremel.

Go with this.
A Master System sometimes costs less than a converter.
