Vinyl dyes are real real tricky to use.alexis524 wrote:rule #5 is key. i'm OCD when it comes to that stuff. i wouldn't have it any other way . I want what ever i'm painting for you to blow your mind when you get it and unwrap it. i've looked into vinyl dyes alot too, and that seems to be preferred. i'd also like to throw on some custom art (8-bit themes(mega man, mario, yoshi, kirby, etc.)) color coordinated with no tow consoles alike, so it would truly be custom.
P.S. yes, i would also de-yellow a console for anyone who didn't want to do it themselves.
You can't hold or spin the object in your hands like you normally would as it's extremely runny and 100% un-removable once it's on there so you have to paint it as it sits on a platform.
Also, sanding down plastic surfaces before painting is some of the worst advice I've ever heard. It's usually spread around by people who are used to painting wood and other stuff and does NOT work with plastic as you will only end up removing the textured surface and destroying the case. You should use a soft and moistened rag plus toothbrush, pipe cleaners etc... to wipe off any and all dirt you can find before painting. That way it looks like it just came off the production line when the end customer gets it.
