Soulja BOY!

Post by Arbitern1 »

I think we need an entire forum devoted to the discussion of Soulja Boy, but that probably isn't going to happen i'll settle for this one thread. Let's talk about how he is the best rapper ever. He clearly slaughters smart political rap in the vein of Public Enemy. He breaks down sound barriers more than A Tribe Called Quest could ever hope to. G Funk? 2Pac, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg? No Soulja has the REAL FUNK! This thread shall hereby be devoted to the discussion of this wonderful individual.

could the OP post their age? I find soulja boy even in the same sentence as tribe and PE a tad bit offensive. they are leagues apart. i would advise you to listen to any of the following to find out what real (empahasis on REAL, not commercialized hip POP like the artist you mentioned but will not use his name) hip hop and MC'ing is:

KRS One
guru
ganstarr
jeru tha damaja
roots
tribe called quest
common
lil brother & 9th wonder

god i hope this is a joke thread. if so the joke's on me

 seriously.

People here actually believing someone who's even so much as aware of Public Enemy would claim Soulja Boy is better.

To be honest with you, I don't mind listening to Soulja when I'm looking to get a few lol's...his song with Snoop, "Pronto" is probably my favorite(that he is featured in). I would put this in the same category as stuff like Gucci Mane and E-40 who I listen to simply because the music is so ridiculous, a good time always follows when it is playing. Do I consider it good rap...hell no, but a good time...yes!
