QFT! Games are nowhere near as fun when all you can do is shake your phone and swipe your fingers across a glass screen. I'd play a PC/Console version over a iPhone game any day of the week thanks!
Maybe you should go and actually play an iPhone/iPod Touch before spouting complete bullshit. Games like Plants VS Zombies or Bejeweled are actually superior on iPhone. A touch screen is a far superior input method for games like that.
maybe you should not be so shitty to someone espousing an opinion. hm?

I don't have a problem with opinions. However stating that games aren't as good on the iPhone because of the touchscreen interface is completely false. Whilst certain games that use more traditional input methods are inferior on the iPhone, games that were built with the input methods available on the iPhone in mind are usually very good. Take for instance Dodonpachi or Espgaluda.

How many people really sit down and plays their iPhone at home for hours on end? Developers know that they aren't going to sell if they're expensive. Because this way, the customer can grab a couple of small games they'll play for less time. Makes sense from a developer's stand point.

But it's still unfair to PC customers.

Why? I don't understand. PC games are cheaper than their counterparts on PS3/360. Is it unfair to 360/PS3 customers that games are cheaper on PC?

If it is the same game, then I would say yes it is unfair - barring any differences in prices of DVDs, blu-rays packing or digital only download, the customer is allegedly paying for the intellectual property, which is the same in this assumption. If it is, then why do some customers pay more than the others? Maybe it is due to licensing fees of the "publishers".

Does the same game have a different price on 360 and on PS3? Typically no, I think.

I think that if a game like Plants vs Zombies is sold for 5 bucks in the iPhone, then the devs should lower the price of the other (digital only) versions to around 5 bucks. Some difference due to cuts taken in by Apple or Steam may need to be taken into account but that doesn't mean 15 bucks difference!
That is my opinion. I can understand why they don't if people still pay the "full" price anyway.

In any case the world is not fair and the devs aren't forced to be either.

If there is missing content in the cheaper version or anything like that, then it is a different story.

I think you have to take into considering that almost everything on the App store is between 59p and £2.99. If a dev were to release a game on the app store at £20 it wouldn't sell. At all. Personally I think the App store is the perfect pricing policy. It offers a lot of high quality content for impulse buy prices. I would put money on it that devs are making more money from their app store games than they are on any other platform. Just look at what happens when games are reduced to sub £5 on Steam. Their sales triple and sometimes even quadruple. So by halving the price they actually made more money than they did selling it for full price.

Pricing games at RRP for digital releases is dumb. People won't pay it.
