Need serious help with Dread Rising

Post by RCBH928 »

This post contains spoilers

Hello, Please help me
I got dead rising on the 360, and although I like the settings and the game over all is amazing to my taste
but the game is like impossibly difficult

Can any one help me figure out how does the timing in this game works?
I currently finished case 2 carlito boss(which took me hours to beat) , so now I have to get Brad some medicine.

The time given to me to go to the supermarket and get back to give him medicine is not enough, not to mention there is a tough boss I have to face in the supermarket, not to mention I might just die on the way going there or on the way coming back. Not to mention there are other side missions too.

I can't complete side missions because there is hardly enough time to complete the main missions, if u are late on one mission, thats it game over, and u can't make multiple saves too.

Can you please help me figure how to play this game.?

The game isn't that hard really. If you want to beat the game just focus on the main missions and don't worry about the side ones. But even when focusing on the main missions there are parts where time is very limited.

For human bosses, I've found that samurai swords, lead pipes, and other strong melee weapons work best. But there are occasions when a gun is the best option.

Edit: It also doesn't hurt to level up before you try to beat the game. Getting more HP and learning some good zombie killin'/evading skills is really important.

I think it's impossible to do everything! Literally impossible! You have to pick and choose what you want to accomplish on each play through. You can't do everything.

I'll never understand why people come here for game advice when you can find anything on gamefaqs.

Dead Rising is one of those games that I really don't recommend anyone play without a walkthrough. It just isn't designed well enough to be played any other way. If I were you, I'd just start over. You'll keep Frank at whatever level he is if you do.

Also, the easiest way to kill most bosses and all the zombies you'll face as well is with the chainsaw. You can find one in the area with the ride where you fight the clown boss. There are three books you can get that let you use the chainsaw for a LONG time. One is in the book store in that same area where you get the chainsaw. The other is in a book store in the beginning area where you meet that rival reporter. The chainsaw is the best weapon in the game

EDIT:Actually, I think it's the MINI chainsaw that I'm talking about, not the regular one. It's the ones the clown boss uses

It is possible to get every single thing done. It's even possible without gamefaqs, it just requires you to plot out your path in advance. Try chaining as many survivors as possible when making a rescue run, try starting out with the furthest away mission and circling in, and most off all MANAGE YOUR TIME!

It requires some playthroughs to get the hang of it, but the game only lasts a couple of hours during those so it's no big hassle. Just follow a strategy and you WILL succeed.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

I have been to gamefaq
Its not like I want a full walkthrough

I just need to understand how to manage time in this game, between the clock and the time you have to complete the missions its just huge mess.

I stopped playing the game now until I find a way I can manage time, I don't want to complete 70% of the game just so I get up to a mission where I didn't time things right and have to go back from the start.

Can I level up in the game, save the stats and start the game from the beginning?

Well see that's the problem, managing your time and finding a way to do everything seems to require a LOT of trial and error and also a bit of luck, which is why I think the game is just easier with a walkthrough. It's really one of the game's biggest flaws in my opinion

And yes, you can start the game over with all of your stats. Also, if you unlock certain items like the real megabuster, they'll be waiting for you in your headquarters(where Brad and everybody else hangs out)

Well,
I am just about to finish the game
and I can tell you this game is AMAZING!

I really put the setting as #1 in games usually, and I know of no other game that locks you up in a mall with a trillion zombies and you can pick up enough stuff out of the shops that will give you satisfying kills.
Its like playing in a movie!

Characters are memorable, action is great, leveling is balanced, options are endless really, just a ton of fun I couldn't stop playing.

The problem with this game is its pretty hard to figure out how to complete it. Once you know how the game works its makes a lot of sense. This is the first game I know where you would play a couple of times through to level up, then go back and play all the missions to complete it.

Usually you would have to complete the game , then they give you all the weapons and your acquired skills to play from the start with. Not this one , you can keep leveling and just start back when-ever. Maybe its innovative new kind of games?
The great thing is that there is an ending even if you don't complete the main missions.

The whole trick is to do the main missions, open the case file look when is the next case due, and you decide if you have enough time to do the side missions. That is all there is to it.

best advice, level up by killing bosses over and over, and rescuing survivors . I couldn't put the controller down!

thanx for the help everyone, and don't miss on this great game!
