hrmmm... anyways, wanted your all's opinion on this matter.

I meet this girl a few weeks ago I really enjoy hanging out with. She's a friend of this other girl I went to high school with and she's just so damn adorable (a Taurus, I just have a thing for Tauruses). Anyways I ran into her tonight while I was out, and we were hitting it off phenomonally, but then I halted in my tracks at a comment that was discussed. She's virgin.

A bit of back story for this. I'm 24, been active for over a decade... very active. She is 20.

Now I like her, I'd like to get to know her further... but this right here scares me a bit. Every other women I have been with under these circumstances have either ended in disaster, or their brothers wanting to kill me (one was my own very good friend... was NOT fun).

Should I bother attempting anything with this person? Or should I just turn the other way. I'm a bit offset as she seems rather intelligent, loves English, History and reading just as much as I do, and just generally a kick ass individual.



I would ask my own friends here locally... but they'd just laugh at me and tell me I'm a whore anyways and their comments won't matter. Making the topic mute with them.

I guess the question is would you want to spend time with her even if you don't get in her pants?

to be 20 and a virgin probably isn't an accident, does she have moral/spiritual/religious reasons for this? are you ready to respect her boundaries, even if you want to progress the relationship further?

are you ready to be the supportive, caring, etc... guy to help her if things do progress further?

is she emotionally mature and a stable person?

if you are cool with that, then I say go for it and have fun, just don't go into it expecting to 'change' her or whatever

I like to believe it isn't that unlikely that she is telling the truth, but I don't know how it is in the U.S. (and probably it differs greatly from state to state). In the U.K. my impression is that it would be VERY unlikely, in Portugal a bit more likely - depends a lot on the individual as well, but the background culture is also a good factor I would say.

Well around here, women cling to virginity like a status symbol, while guys want nothing to to do with it. Both genders however lose it as fast as humanly possible.

Personally, I'm so fucking sick of the entire concept. Some guy puts his meatpole in some girl's second smelliest hole and instantly he becomes a full grown respectable man, while she becomes infected and worthless. It doesn't mean anything and it doesn't change anything. The idea of virginity just needs to die.

But the thing that needs to be taken into account if she is a virgin, is that at age 20 she has most likely waited for what she see's as “mr right”, which adds all kinds of stupid ceremony around the idea of losing it. She probably has this silly notion of finding the right guy to lose it to, so it is somehow special. The best thing she can do is get it over and done with and stop building it up to something more than it is... which is just fucking. Then again Moz could be right and she is lying.

People put too much emphasis on sex as if it is the most important part of the relationship. It's only a small ( yet still important) part of it all.

Overall Duct, just go with it. The subject should have never even been brought up in your discussion with this girl, but since it was, it should have been shrugged off by you. If you like her, just continue. I'm kind of wondering how it was brought up. That's probably the easiest way to tell if it's a lie or not. If she just brought it up out of the blue, less than casually, with a certain anxious look on her face waiting for your response, I'd say it's bullshit and she's just testing your reaction.

If I offend any women here, or any dudes with healthy relationships with women, I apologize. If you guys have actually found nice mates, congratulations and disregard me however you want. Know how envious I am of you. But in my life, I've seen and experienced nothing but dishonest, mischiefing cunts that live only to feed like vampires on the pain of males. I've always been a seeing-is-believing kind of guy, so I just cant believe that nice girls exist out there when someone simply tells me they do. You would think statistically, there would be 1 female out there comparable to me, who is actually innocent, with no skeletons in her closet, no fucking children, no drug habits, no psychotic disorders, and no desperate requirement for something of my own other than my time and attention. I don't see how it's asking too much. I mean it was so easy to stay out of trouble and take few risks all of my life. Why couldn't women do it too? Now they just suffer for it, and I can only look down on them.
