Japanese XBox 360 - Worth It??

I've heard a number of people on here hyping a bunch of Cave shmups that haven't been released outside of Japan.. (Deathsmiles II, ESPGaluda, etc..)

Is it recommended, then, to look into a JP XBox? (or PAL, maybe?)

Also, if so - what other games would be worth getting a second and foreign system for? (Personally, I love Fighters/Brawlers, Shmups, Platform, Racing, and Action/Adventure.. I love RPG's as well, but I assume they wouldn't be worth the import effort, due to language barriers.)

I've heard most American games will work on Japanese 360s (or you can at least get cheap Asian versions that are still in English), so that's something going for it.

What about using Xbox Live for gaming? XBLA games?

HELL YES!!!!!

I play Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label and Ketsui Extra all the time. Many more Japanese only shmups are out and many more coming soon.

Yeah... I've looked into Japanese systems... I'd rather pay the $100 for a used U.S. system and mod it to be region free than to pay the $400+ to import a Japanese system.

Galuda 2 and Futari are region free.

If you gotta play a terrible port of DOJ and a really good Ketsui port...sure.

you won't find an xbox 360 at a japanese toy r us, japan. CheapyD said their where none.

is it me or you can flash the firmware on the dvd-rom drive and it becomes region free?
Using the Ixtreme LT or something like that right?

No, it isn't region free by just flashing the firmware, it's still region locked. It's only region free if you jtag it.
