Sega Saturn Mod Chip Issues

Post by fusion »

I modded my Saturn about 2 years ago and everything worked great. However, I got it back out and wanted to play so i burned a game I wanted and it doesn't do anything. It won't read the CD-R. I burned with Alcohol 120%. The disc loads fine with SSF. Any ideas?

Thanks

I would try to burn another image of a different game and also check to see if the
Saturn is playing legit games. That way you can kind of divide and conquer as far as what the issue is.

Might have to try burning slower or even on a different brand CD-R. I usually burn my games at 8x.

Is the Saturn playing legit games?

hiya fusion , try these tips............

- Cleaning the Laser Lens with Alcohol
- Burning a different game especially a Bin/Cue image in Imgburn at x4
- If they fail , remove the Modchip and reassemble back to stock and try an Original game.

+1

it could be poor contacts on the mod chip or it could be loose too

also check its getting power and signal from your cd rom board

keep an eye out for bad caps if its been sitting for a long time
