Don't really care. I was serious about the only thing interesting me in hacking my ps3 is mkv support and emulators. But my PC can do both better

Why should I update my ps3 just to play online again. I wanted to see psn bargain sales online today. I couldn't even play final fight double impact because it requires online acess.

Now HERE'S some big news. Now, theoretically, you can play any disc-based game over remote play: http://www.ps3-hacks.com/2010/09/09/ena ... all-games/
Re: Sony removing OtherOS feature in 3.21 PS3 update
I thought that was already possible for psp remote play. Too me it seems old news. The only problem would be the need for extra dual stick. But there is a trick to adding ps3 dual shock controller with bluetooth access to the psp.lisalover1 wrote:Now HERE'S some big news. Why wouldn't you just play the game on the PS3 with the PS3 controller... Remote play just seems utterly retarded to me. It's not usable outside of your network, and if you have to play it inside your network then surely you'd just turn the fucking TV on instead of having your PSP on to play the PS3 which is already switched on... I never got remote play, either. The only reason (that I can think of) for it being there is because Sony thought Nintendo would have a cool networking feature with the DS and Wii and Sony wanted to say: "Hey! We got a cool thing to do with your PS3 and PSP!"Niode wrote:Why wouldn't you just play the game on the PS3 with the PS3 controller... Remote play just seems utterly retarded to me. Re: Sony removing OtherOS feature in 3.21 PS3 update
Precisely. There is a reason there are only a limited number of games that support it. It's a novel concept at best and very rarely translates into anything worth the effort.Niode wrote: Why wouldn't you just play the game on the PS3 with the PS3 controller... Well, as I said in the previous post, that problem just got solved. You can't possibly say that there aren't any PS3 games you wouldn't like to play on your PSP. Also, Remote Play does work on other networks than the one the PS3 is currently connected to. I haven't ever gotten that part to work, but I know for a fact that it does.lwcook wrote:Precisely. Re: Sony removing OtherOS feature in 3.21 PS3 update
I've managed to get it to work. I thought it would be cool to play PS3 on my PSP outside of my house. It's laggy as shit, the video quality takes a nosedive and, well you're playing it on a PSP - bye bye comfort. The novelty is very short lived and ultimately, it's just not worth it.lisalover1 wrote:Well, as I said in the previous post, that problem just got solved. I think what he was getting at was there are few games that support it for a reason. IE there's not many games that are playable on the PSP due to control restraints, amongst other things.
