Since this is the only release date people seem to remember...
Anyway, I have actually played a lot more DC in the past year than ever before. I am finally getting into some of the better games for the system (arcade ports) after being turned off in the past by many of the Sega exclusives that often get praised (the Sonic Adventure games, Shenmue, etc.). Cannon Spike has been my game of choice lately, but both the shmup and fighting library on the system are quite good. I'd now rank this as my second favorite system of the era (behind the PS2, but ahead of the GCN and XBox).
Plus, the new games coming out for the system really speak volumes about its dedicated fan base. A year ago I wouldn't have really put myself in that category. Now, I do.
So, happy birthday you misunderstood machine!
How are you celebrating?

I'll be heading back home to visit some friends and family this weekend, but rest assured, the Dream is coming with me.
I wouldn't mind playing some PSO and Jet Grind Radio, and hopefully later this evening; Rush 2049, Powerstone 2, Armada, and of course Soul Calibur.
