Xbox 360 hard drive required games
So I'm getting ready to get a 360 S and for the life of me & Google', I cannot find a list of games that require the HDD.
(FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Re: Xbox 360 hard drive required games
None of them require a hard drive install. They do take up a little space for the save data (4mb or so). DLC is a different story. It can be a few MB to 1 or 2 GB.
As for XBLA games they too range from MBs to 2 GBs.

I found an old article about some games will require it. http://arstechnica.com/old/content/2006/02/6138.ars

I'll look around some more on the interwebs but I'm pretty sure there aren't any. I guess its possible that FF XI might since it did on PS2. Are you weighing getting the system with a HDD vs. without?
Re: Xbox 360 hard drive required games
I believe only FF XI and add-on discs like Oblivion's GOTY or Borderlands Add-on, etc... require the HDD. Which now would work with a 16gb usb thumb drive as well.

Yeah, 250GB vs 4GB/arcade... $100 difference and I have lots of extra flash drives. Since it seems most games don't require it I'll probably get an arcade unit especially since doing the NXE HDD installs don't seem to make any difference in load times (or make them worse, SF4).Cronson wrote:I'll look around some more on the interwebs but I'm pretty sure there aren't any. I know we can use USB flash drives but can we use EXT HDDs on it too?? Or can we use a USB memory card adapter and put in SD/CF/ETC cards??? That would be even easier~

You can only have 2 active usb storage devices at a time. Don't know what that means, but major nelson said it.
Re: Xbox 360 hard drive required games
You can use EXT HDD's on it, but there is an artificial cap of 16gb. So unless it's a 20gb HDD, you're wasting space.D.D.D. wrote:Yeah, 250GB vs 4GB/arcade... $100 difference and I have lots of extra flash drives. Flash drives are the way to go.
