where to buy PSone parts?

Post by yosh »

I went to Salvation Army today, for $9.00, I picked up an Atari Flashback and a PSone. Pretty good deal.

When I go to test my PSone, it doesn't read disks. Upon further inspection, I find that there isn't even a ribbon cable in the disk drive. Is there any website I can buy these parts for cheap?

My advice would be to just buy another broken PSX of the same model since they are a dime a dozen these days.

That would be good, but here's the problem:

I only know of one thrift store in my location. There was one PSone, which I bought, and that's it.

There's a pawn shop, but the guy that works there is a dick and he charges 40 bucks for the PSone thats there

eBay isn't an option, because the prices suck and so does shipping.

USA

A new laser is around $10-$20

ebay has them for $12, shipping would take about 10-20 days

Also consider making a trade with someone here. I have a spare one lying around here that works perfectly if you're interested.

What model is it? I have a 5501 that has some sort of board problem as it never boots up so I could trade you the ribbon in that if you have the same model. I'd have to check but it would probably also work for a 7501.
