What's everyone around here saying about this game? Who's excited? Who's getting it? Who hates Halo? I personally LOVED the first Halo when it came out and I still say it's the best FPS of all time. Halo 2 was a huge disappointment and Halo 3 was just good, not great. ODST was the worst in my opinion, couldn't even play through it.
Anyway, I didn't think I would even bother getting the new Halo but it's supposed to be more like Halo 1 which got me excited. I pre-ordered it a few days ago and can't wait to play the campaign.

Re: Halo: Reach
Never played them. The games may be good, but all I see them as is another FPS.
Re: Halo: Reach
I admit I like the games myself, I find the best part about them though is the ease in setting up a good lan get-together with the buds. Easy set up and everyone usually gets pretty into it as it's more acceptable then my crazy interest in all things retro. I hope this one brings the multi-player goods as well

Re: Halo: Reach
Halo 2 was awesome. Halo 3 was lame. Never really played the first one. I don't have a 360, but I'm sure my friends will who do have 360s will be getting it when it comes out.
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.
Re: Halo: Reach
Admittedly I agree. I read this and my mind instantly went: Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, Quake, Half-Life, Unreal, GoldenEye...you get the idea.dsheinem wrote:I stopped reading here. Honestly, this series feels as stale as most other series we keep talking about. How many games are there now? And what do they bring to the table? I just don't see this being any different.
Re: Halo: Reach
im sick of people talking about this game. halo was fun yes...but i wish people would realize they are just milking this damn series. also halo is not the best fps series ever made, considering that it went down hill after the first game. yes halo 2 was fun, but the story was not the greatest and it focuses on multiplayer too much.

Re: Halo: Reach
I think I am the only person who thinks that Halo 2 has the best storytelling/set pieces. My take on the first three games:
Singleplayer: Halo 2 > Halo 1 > Halo 3
Multiplayer: Halo 3 > Halo 2 > Halo 1 (although I only played this last one one PC)
Details: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 7&p=168281 and http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 3&p=164751
Oh, ODST is easily the worst in both categories

Re: Halo: Reach
I haven't played Halo 3 or ODST yet. But I liked Halo 2 a lot more than the first one.
Mainly because Halo 2 had a much better variety of levels and enemies. It wasn't just the same shit throughout most of the game, which is how I felt about Combat Evolved.
Myself, I'm looking forward to Reach. But I have to play the previous two beforehand
