Can't wait go get my Android phone now :D:D:D:D:D
So, any emulators for the PS3 yet? Too soon?

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I don't understand the appeal of this to anyone other than a pirate.
I mean the PS3 does all the multimedia you could want so XBMC or something would be pointless and most importantly we live in 2010. In 2003 or so Iwould have been all for this. Emulators? On my TV!?
But fast forward 7 years and today it's a moot point. EVERY TV comes with either VGA and HDMI or just HDMI. EVERY Computer comes with either VGA, DVI or HDMI (Not to mention S-Video or Composite for the SDTV crowd) and everyone owns or can get an older laptop or crappy tiny PC to sit next to their TV as an emulation box for under $100 from a used computer shop.
Frankly this is all pointless. Just a bunch of people who are using an excuse to start pirating after loosing a ridiculously useless function. Linux on the PS3 SUCKED. You didn't even have freaking GPU access! And now you're all getting excited over being able to hack the stupid thing for emulators and applications?
What application could you want that the PS3 doesn't already have? What emulator could you want for it when hooking up your existing computer to the TV itself is miles and way the easiest and most cost effective solution? Frankly there will be people that will argue that it's all for legitimate reasons such as archival of DLC and DL Games and disc based games for when the hardware is obsolete later and I agree on that, but give me a break. Releasing this now in the middle of the console's life means that 99.9% of it is going to be for piracy and you guys all know it.
Thanks a lot for turning a good machine into the fucking PSP all over again, because Sony's now going to make it hell on me, THE LEGITIMATE CONSUMER.

The only argument I can think of is using backup manager to install all my games fully to the hard drive. While this feature will mostly be used for piracy (rent/borrow game, install, return,) there some of use with an upgraded hard drive and would love the ability to play our games straight from the hd.
Basically it's the same situation as no-cd cracks for PC games back in the day. Yeah, most of the people used them to play games they didn't own, but I used it mostly so I didn't have to mess with discs.

Myself right above your post wrote:Frankly there will be people that will argue that it's all for legitimate reasons such as archival of DLC and DL Games and disc based games for when the hardware is obsolete later and I agree on that, but give me a break. Basically all that's gonna happen is 5-10% of us will do the right thing and still buy games and maybe rip them to the drive for archival but what then? Like when I hear from people that PSP hacking isn't that widespread. EVERY SINGLE customer I've ever had at GameStop either has their PSP Hacked and buys and returns games constantly or asks me how to hack it. And these range from little kids to full blown adults! Not some stupid tiny niche crowd like everyone talks about.
Also, Blu-Rays are FREAKING INDESTRUCTIBLE in my nearly three years working at GameStop I have only ever seen 3-5 scratched Blu-Rays. So archiving them onto the system right now is just an excuse to buy and return discs after copying them. Or you're just to lazy to get off of the couch.
If you somehow have a massive 150+ game collection for the PS3 that's understandable so you won't have to keep track of lots of discs and box them away, but I doubt anyone on here does.

Why are you so adamant against discs? Like I mentioned above and 90% of people know Blu-Rays are nigh indestructible and they take up little to no room because I guarantee you don't have a massive PS3 collection.
