Installed Saturn Modchip with probems

Post by Onyxthecat »

Ok, so I just soldered in the chip but I did the A+B connection on the chip instead of soldering it directly to the 14 connection on the saturn. I turned it on put in a region patched game and the disc spins but it says "checking disc format" then nothing. If I tap C a bunch it freezes then says "disc lid open". I put in my original copy of Andretti Racing and it did the same thing but it played the audio only in the menu with the green cubes spinning around. Ehh, I'll try to re-solder but if that doesn't work I don't know what to do.

I'm not a fan of the A/B method. Solder it to pin 14 and that should solve your problem. I used some small pieces of paper on either side of the pin to make sure that the solder did not flow on the neighboring pins.

WOOOHOOOO!! I did it. I de-soldered the A+B and did the chip on the board. The soldering was shitty but it worked. I actually cant belive I did it lol. I tried Cyberbots and it loads and plays perfect. Thanks Racketboy!!! Now to burn many more lol
