For OP - Since PSX Arcade sticks are abundant, inexpensive adaptors, for Dreamcast, Gamecube and XBox.

I'll vouch for both. The sheer utility of these two adapters cannot be overstated.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I've only used it a little so far but I like it. Microswitches and an easy throw for the stick, rubber dome buttons which are fine to me, but some stick snobs hate them. If you can get a gray one with both cords it will work with NES or SNES. There's also one for Genesis too, I think it was light gray or white. The official name is the Capcom Fighter Power Stick.

I have a cheap Interact stick that will do SNES or Gen, but if you don't like the feel of an Advantage you'll like that stick even less. Ascii made the Advantage for Nintendo, so stay away from any Ascii made sticks on older systems since you don't like them.

The Quickshot XII is a flight style stick for the NES that's all microswitch. It's good for shmups and action games IMHO, but not so much for platformers since it's awkward to jump with either your trigger finger or thumb.

I agree with CRT, look for a Wico stick for 2600 gaming. I also have one of the bat style sticks, but there was also one with a ball and one with a sort of flight grip like handle.

I have a Hori Fighting Stick PS and a Hori Fighting Stick 2 for PS1 and 2 respectively. I actually prefer the older one as it is a sloped design as opposed to the thick design all sticks use now. The older one is the same design as the Fighting Stick SS for Saturn.

Otherwise I have adapters to use PS sticks on DC/Xbox/GC/PS3/PC so far.

For the Saturn you have the official Sega Virtua Stick :

I picked one up some time ago but never actually used it because i still haven't bought a Saturn , I do have some Saturn Japanese Shmups though

It looks like a bog standard Hori fighting stick and if it's quality is anything like the FS then it's usable .

That's the Japanese one. The US one is black, flatter, and is all rubber dome . I think it's fine. I know there was a gray and blue one that was the same as the US black one.

FYI, SMS and 2600 ( as well as other Atari consoles and computers including Atari ST and also Commodore computers like C64 and Amiga will happily accept any Sega Genesis / Mega Drive compatible controller.

The best Saturn stick its a SEGA licensed product called "Eclipse Stick". Its the most smooth and precise home arcade stick I've ever used, and I'm a collector.

You dont belive how great is to play Radiant Silvergun with that joystick.

I'm intrigued...have you played with other Saturn sticks? How does it compare to the JPN Virtua Stick or the Hori?

That's made by Ascii. Presumably it is similar in feel to the Advantage which D said he didn't like.

I have one of these. It is ok, though the buttons are really low down so you can't really rest your hand on the stick. It need to be a lot heavier too, it is small and light. Also rubber dome and Advantage like.

I just saw one on ebay. I'd like to know if it is any good too. Though I just can't spring for $100 without knowing if it is similar to later sticks and the description is a bit off putting as to it's condition for the price too.
