I've had some great times with my N64 and PS 1. A few years ago I'd have definitely voted PS 1 for its incredible library of fantastic games. Right now though, I'm getting totally seduced by the Saturn and realizing just how much this little system I ignored years ago had to offer. So it gets my vote
The PS 1 does have an amazing library of rpgs, but like so many other genres that flourished on the PS 1, we'd have seen plenty of them on the Saturn if it had been more successful. Frankly, I think Grandia was on par with FF 7 and I haven't even experienced the supposed brilliance of Panzer Dragoon Saga yet. In time, the Saturn would have had lots of 3-d games to match its 2-d library. I mean supposedly they had a working demo of Shenmue for the system. I think we would have eventually gotten some great arcade beat'em ups brought home by Capcom too. Since they did that D&D Collection in Japan. Can you imagine a home version of Battle Circuit? That would have rocked. So many possibilities. Oh well, we'll never know.
I really should have listened to my geek friend back in high school. He was trying to show me how awesome the 2-d fighters on the Saturn were, but like most people, me and my other friends were all into the PS 1.

I would have voted for the PS1 had it not been for NiGHTS. (I hate spelling it like that but just writing "Nights" might throw somebody off.) This was very close, as I have had my PS1 since 2001, and my Saturn only since last year. However, the PS1 experiance can be had on several other systems like the PS2. Saturn is very unique and fresh to me.
As for the N64, Bleh. Nothing on that system ever really impressed me. If I lived alone I wouldn't own one, just like all the others on the list.

wait... I vote the M2!
actually, i put it on there because there really are a couple of games for it, it was so close to release and on occasion somebody sells it on ebay for big bucks.
they used the M2 for a Konami arcade board for a brief time, and it is used ATM machines. In japan they used it for "pay coffee machines"
for more info check here and also do google research, its pretty interesting

While I had all three systems that were good on that list (N64, PSX, SAT), if it weren't for Mario 64, 3D action/platformers wouldn't be what they are today. Initially, pretty much everyone cloned it afterwards. That's the only reason it get's my vote for the N64. Otherwise, there were so many great games for all three machines that it's a 3-way tie for me~
Just some of my favs;
PSX - Ridge Racer 1~4 (plus NeGcon), Square RPGs, Bust-A-Move (dancing one), Bushido Blade, Vib Ribbon, SOTN etc.
SAT - Treasure games, Capcom fighters (Darkstalkers!), Panzer Dragoon 1-2-Saga, etc.
N64 - Mario, Pilotwings, Zelda, F-Zero, Golden Eye + PD, Wave Race, S&P, etc.
M2...
? C'mon man... That's not a gaming system. It was a total loss of Matsushita. $100 mil for nothing. I don't know the accuracy of the wiki on it but, "The M2 technology is still in use today. It is mostly used in ATM machines and in Japan it is used in public pay Coffee machines"~ See, total loss.
