Dreamcast trouble shoot

Post by Flake »

My 'cast is doing something a bit funky.

It loads games just fine but has this odd quirk of randomly booting me back to the start up menu. When I tell it to read the disc again, it will do so with no problem.

And then maybe I get to play a game and maybe I get to see the blue sky again.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Will pay attention to this, since I don't always plug my DC - just to save on electricity. Good thing or bad for the internal battery?

Not really as the battery is a rechargeable lithium ion one. Just be sure to plug it in and play it for an hour or two every month or so.

Alrighty, I will give this method a shot.

It's ironic that it is doing this right after I ordered like $50 worth of games and accessories.

Great success! I'm not sure if it was the door or the pins (I just went ahead and followed that blogs advice for both), hit the power button and everything is fine again.

My weekend dreams of rocking out 0079 Rise from the Ashes are possible again.

Thanks a bunch!

Edit: No dice. Amazon.com here I come.
