Microsoft are raising the price of Xbox Live in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom and the United States.

Hopefully it just means that in the UK the price of the one month subscription is going up and the (already) overpriced yearly subscription will stay the same. Hopefully I will still be able to get my codes from cheapxboxlivecodes.com for £27 a year.

The thing that pisses me off the most is this beauty of a quote.

Erm... Compared to who exactly? Microsoft are the only company charging for their online service...

I assume them mean PSN+, but that's a low claim, seeing that PSN never boasted having the best network for online gaming

What I don't understand is, a lot of people are talking about ESPN and Netflix as a reason for the increase in price. That doesn't apply to the UK. At all. We can't get either of those services. Yes we get Sky, but at a (frankly, ridiculous) extra cost above the cost of the XBL Gold subscription. So why is MS putting the price up in the UK? We're paying more for the same gimped (compared to US) service...

If it weren't for PSN being utter shit, the graphics/frame rates being poorer and the terrible controller. I would just trade in all my multi-platform 360 titles and get them on PS3...

Eugh, I hate it when companies do this. IE price you out of their service, forcing you to use an inferior (albeit free) alternative. If Sony were smart (I know, fat chance) they'd capitalise on this news and bring all the features missing from PSN out in the next update, instantly killing the psjailbreak and gaining a fuck-ton of new customers who are pissed about paying extra for the same service on 360. Shame it will never happen since Sony management is essentially 10 monkeys flinging shit around (or so it seems).

I'm sad to admit, I fell for their traps recently. I played Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3, and was sorta teeved when I heard that VC2 will be a PSP exclusive. I recently bought a PSPgo seening that I buy a lot of PSone games on the PSN, with the hope of buying VC2 for the PSPgo, hooking the PSP to my TV via video out, then playing it with the Dualshock 3 from my couch.

Then I hear that Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (a PSP exclusive) is now a UMD exclusive (will not be on the PSN). Buch of retarded shit throwing monkeys indeed. I wonder if I can return my PSPgo...

This is the exact reason why I buy multiplatform games on the PS3.

It's not that I don't like the 360, don't get me wrong. I just prefer the PS3 due to the free online. Though I do wish there was more support for indie games. That's the one thing I will say that the 360 has over PS3, better downloadable games. (Though if they were on a disc I'd jump on it in an instant)

Though I'm not paying for multiplayer online gaming. Hell no. I don't see why I should when the PS3 has it for free. I don't know about the lag comparisons, but I prefer the PS3 controller anyway.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

LMAO!!! Frame rate poorer? Give me a break!!! The frame rates are every bit as good as Xbox.. There have been numerous comparisons to Xbox Live and PSN service and they are pretty muhc IDENTICAL!!! Stop being so blind about sony... Sure Xbox Live has better downloads and supports indie games, but no way in hell do the games runs smoother.. Not to mention most xbox models still have a %40+ hardware failure rate!!! Not to mention they recently showed how a game like Uncharted 2 could never be emulated on the Xbox!! Don't get me wrong I'm not biased, but I just need to point out the BS there...

Seriously I did not realize this thread would be full of Xbox Fanboyism(yes not a real word).. In all seriousness both have their positives, but I think the majority can agree the graphics are superior on the PS3 and the frame rates are identical!!!
