Dragon Hacker 2000 PS1 Rare?

Post by Anthony817 »

My nextdoor neighbor is going to give me a PS1 fat, with 3 dual shock controllers, 3 games and a memory card or 2. I already have a Dragon Hacker 2000, which I have had since 98/99, and I believe it to be rare, as I can find no info about it on the net. It was purchased to be able to play Dragon Ball GT on PS1 jap version, so this device allowed us to swap discs and play imports.

I think these are illegal now, and the company went out of business, but I was wondering if I could use this device to play backups or use a swap disc method on PS1 without modding the system.

Who here knows about playing backups, and what all will I need to do to it?

I give up with trying to convince people not to use offensive terms by accident.

Since jap is typically used as a slur, many prefer that jpn is used as shorthand instead.

As for playing those backups, you'd need something to tape down the lid sensor, and when the disc stops spinning (after the dragon hacker menu or whatever loads), change it to your burned copy.

That particular disc may be hard to find, but there are so many different versions of the same thing, most made by fly by night companies, so none of them are reall worth all that much. Still a cool thing to have though

Actually, sory about using that term, I thought everybody knew it was ment to refer to the country, and it is posted on many game boxes, never meant it as a racial slur, because to me it is not... :?

Anyway, I only found info of the PS Hacker, which is the same exact thing, only mine is grey, and says dragon Hacker 2000 on the sticker. Aperiantly Gameshark codes work with these as well.

Here is what it looks like, only it is grey, and I think very rare, but I could be wrong.

Because it is an item that isn't made by sony, And other devices have the exact same function it may be rare but not worth much, more than likely. It would be comparable to finding a obscure r4 card.

If it's accidental, it's not offensive. Or rather, if you take offense from someone's innocent use of a term, it's your problem not theirs.

I think something accidental can be offensive. Anyway Not going to have this discussion for a 3rd time.
