Another more convenient way. HDAdvance/HDLoader with a flip top on a fat PS2.
Once games are installed put discs away, play off menu driven hard drive, no mod chip needed.

It will be a lot easier to have FMCB on PHAT PS2 and FTP the games to the HDD.
A flip top plus the HDAdvance Disc plus shipping is way more than buying modchip

Personally I use WinHiip and a USB to IDE adapter.
