The Sega Saturn is so quiet...

Well, the guy in question, is a total idiot in general, so I wasn't completely surprised, but I still couldn't believe it. The conversation went something like this:

Idiot: The 360 is the best system ever.

Me: You're joking, right? There have been tons of great consoles before this generation.

Idiot: What? There was just the PS1 and PS2, and the N64, but that's all there was. And the 360 was better than both of them combined.

Me: You mean you haven't heard of Sega?

Idiot: Sega doesn't make systems!

Me: They used to make them. You can't say you haven't heard of the Genesis or Dreamcast.

Idiot: The what? I haven't heard about them, I think you're messing with me.

Me: Why would I? Look, I can prove it! [I took out my phone, and looked up pictures of the consoles.]

Idiot: That's not a system! That's just a really old computer probably from like, 1997! [Referring to the Genesis]

Me: You mean to tell me that you think the Genesis is fake?

Idiot: Well, not if it's that! I bet that computer can't even play my Madden games.

[At this point, I din't say anything, and just walked away. There's no arguing with this guy, and even if you did, it would be a pointless battle. I later told him about the SNES and Saturn, but he still didn't believe me.]

Wow. That is all i can say. I did not know anybody was that ignorant. Age does not matter, I am only 17 and i collect all sorts of retro goodies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Madden_Football_%2792. No Madden on my Genesis that is for sure =)

Yes, Saturn and ps1 are quiet in comparison.
I think the Hardware has changed alot in Saturn and ps1 revs.
Ranging from first generation jp hw to last released US/EU hw.
Saturn had a nice sound, probably due to a bigger plastic shell, whereas the ps1 sounded like ass and a little louder perhaps too. OK, I miss ´m both.
The jp Saturn has a stronger disc motor or at least that´s what I think, they sound stronger.
